Welcome and good evening readers. Honoka here with Miho as your host, bringing you our first review ever. Well, Master would oversee us but he’s sick at the moment and became partially deaf because of it. It’s not permanent he said but that’s why we took the initiative to do this review ourselves. So, please sit back and enjoy our review of Bandai’s Armored Girl Project, Infinite Stratos, Cecilia Alcott and her Blue Tears IS unit.
Well, judging from the box alone i can say that she is quite huge. As a comparative object, the monitor behind it is Master’s 17″ Widescreen Samsung Monitor so you can probably guess how big her box is.
From her box’s front and backside you can see that it has pictures of her and her IS unit, also a rundown of what parts she comes with. So let’s take a look inside. But i think because the quantity of it, I think it’s better to just let you folks see it for yourselves.
As you can see she came with quite a lot of parts, including transparent holders for her “floating” IS unit. Also included are a rather large base with its parts so hold her up when she is using her IS unit completely. She also came with quite a lot of extra hands both for her normal arm or her IS unit arm.
I don’t really know, but some of her joints seemed… weird? Or it’s just my feeling… but detail wise there are those trademark Bandai roughness to it. At a distance it’s not that visible but upclose you can see it perfectly.
Is this the standard for Bandai products? I wouldn’t know, but Master probably would. I can see that she was probably meant more as an item you put a little bit further away from you. Because up close you can see her rather coarse build. There are little bits of wonkiness to her joints also but nothing that hits her posability greatly.
Detail wise though she’s crisp and detail, there are no paint bleeds that me or Miho have spotted. But i think the major issue is the sculpt quality instead of the details.
Let’s move on with her IS unit review then.
What Miho and i spotted the instant she put on her IS unit is reverse issues. Whereas her normal body has sculpt issues but superb detail, her IS unit has superb sculpt yet detailing issues… Inconsistencies and bits of bleeds here and there… weird…
As you can see she was probably meant to be displayed at a distance instead of being up close. From the distance she looks amazing actually, with her weapons and floating funnels which the transparent bars are not that visible from afar. But from upclose there will be inconsistencies visible.
The stand base itself is strong enough to hold her up along with all those parts. The arm joints are not to be triffled with as it can support the weight and length of her rifle which is ridiculously long.
As you can see all her parts and pegs and stands plugged in perfectly and holds everything firmly. There are no worries of it being overly wobbly or flimsy as far as we can see. So with this… we uhm… we should… probably rate her?
I’m sorry readers, i would ask Master for the rating but he’s currently sick so we’re kind of stuck here. So the rating is withheld for the time being until Master is back on his feet again. He got it kind of bad, since he hasn’t left the bed from yesterday.
Stay tuned for more of our review, hopefully next time we can ask Master to rate it first before we make a review out of it.
