So this marks the second item I’ve received last week. So i welcome our newest family member, Figma Sengoku Nadeko  from Bakemonogatari. はじまるよ!!!

Judging from the box alone, there are nothing that bleeds your eyes or seem extraordinary. But like most of the Bakemonogatari series boxes it always has. So… Nothing to do here, carry on.

Now let’s move on to the contents shall we?

  • 2 alternate faceplates
  • 1 hat
  • 1 extra spreaded out jacket
  • 1 pair of jointless arms
  • 2 pieces of joined hands
  • 11 extra hands, 5 pair with 1 extra hand holding a charm

Seeing the numbers and variety I’m quite pleased. But lets see how she steps up to the game…

Anyway let’s move on with the review…

Sheesh…

Review: Figma Sengoku Nadeko

From a glance from the front side and the back i like how the jacket isn’t really a tight fit. Giving you room for more movements despite the shape, at the very least her lower arm can move around quite a lot. This due to the jacket also made out of semi-soft pvc. The details on the jacket is also nice, well, at least for THIS jacket. Let’s move on for now.

The jacket is hold firmly with the transparent peg given when you’re not using the stand. A sore sight for the eyes but let’s face it, who would care for the backside anyway… Though i do love that little bow on the back side, it’s cute.

Well, once you took that jacket off you can rest assured that those jackets won’t have paint transfer issues. This is always a good point, considering pass paint transfer hell that is known as Yoshika and her Striker unit came into light… Though i do have one issue as her shoulders are… to open, meaning they could have covered that joint better by extending her shoulder molds out a little bit…

Review: Figma Sengoku Nadeko

Now this is where my pain starts… seriously, those bleeds are horrible on her pants… add to that, because of the shape, her foot has really and i mean REALLY limited movement range…

Review: Figma Sengoku Nadeko

Let’s take a closer look on the jacke-

What? my hands? Oh, that. I always use gloves since i handled Dead Master. It keeps the figure clean and leaves no fingerprint residues that can turn into discoloration.

Anyway, the jackets… the closed one doesn’t really have an issue… but the spread out one… I… seriously that nasty issue on where the shoulder piece meets the arm piece is just NASTY… did i just ended up with a bad QC product for the first time in my life?

Well about that nasty issue, i find that with proper angle and lighting it could be missed from attention. But due to how the jacket spreads and the length it goes, it MIGHT be hard to balance her without a stand…

Now to her hat, her hat is very well detailed with fine paints and all that. But the there is a two sided sword here, although her hat can take a beating like accidentally bumping it to something or not… Nadeko’s head ISN’T so do be careful as a slight bump might leave a mark on her HAIR, not her HAT…

Other than that, the hat fits perfectly. Not too tight, yet not too loose as to have it swaying allover uncontrollably.

Now, take note. DO NOT USE THE JOINED HANDS WITH THE NORMAL JOINTED ARM… chances are you will do something you will regret… luckily, i didn’t but my friend did so it’s power glue to the rescue… Use the joined hands with the non-jointed arms…

But as for me i really like these poses as it’s not something you regularly see on a figma. I mean you can always pose them yourself but seeing one that is actually sculpted like so isn’t a bad deal at all… Besides, the mold of the arms makes it possible to pose her arms really close to her body…

Review: Figma Sengoku Nadeko

My last gripe… the charm… because i swear… the prototype was better… i am seriously at a loss for word… Looks like i DID end up with a bad QC product…

So considering her faults and her nice points, she is a 50-50 bet. For folks that aims to complete the bakemonogatari line it’s a nice deal if you get the better QC products. But for those who aren’t well it’s up to your choice, so… i gave her:

So there you have it, a review of Figma Sengoku Nadeko. Hope it was helpful.

  1. This is quite detailed, the review.

Good thing that her hat is very light, and small. Fact is, there’s a peg inside Marisa’s hat, as its quite, hefty.

    Wait… did your friend’s Nadek… ouch… >.<

Uh-oh… Araragi is in for it now. Again. 😄

    1. I try to shift my style of reviews lately. And yeah he actually pulled the wrist part of the jointed arms off… which to his surprise cant be inserted with the joined hands

he probably will… but not before the ancestor arrives…

  2. I still have my Nadeko in the box, unopened, so thanks for the warning about the special hands. Knowing me, I might have tried plugging it into the jointed arms… you just averted a terrible disaster for me. ^_^;;

Now, when your Kamineko comes to your doorstep, you really need to include all the Hanazawa Kana-voiced character figma in the review. You know; like your Rocchan and Nadeko. Imagine them all talking with a similar voice. XP

  3. I guess I am a fool for not pre-ordering her, because now I’m regretting it. The very instant she became available for purchase in a local hobby shop she was sold out T~T. Well anyway, good review, seeing this make me want to strive harder and look for her

  4. Man the QC is just terrible..unfortunately enough you got straddled with it..unless it’s all across the board? Sengoku doesn’t really appeal to me as she does seem kind of plain but sometimes simplicity is charm?

I’m still keeping my fingers crossed for a Tsukihi release though..Nendoroid Petits are not enough! =3
