So here we are today with another special review of a figure… This time I’m being assisted by Sumi-tan and Dead-chan. Without further delay, here we go. The review of Figma Rider, from Fate Stay/Night
Personally i like the box design as it has that insignia at the front window, it’s not a nuisance either since she doesn’t have that much to show anyway. But all in all i love her box’s art and color scheme…
She comes with:
- A pair of stake-like weapons
- 1 Alternate faceplate
- 5 Pairs of extra hands
- 1 Figma stand set
Yes, she is that scarce in terms of accessories, but this IS Rider we’re talking about, she doesn’t have many to begin with. Let’s see if her fun factor can make this lack of accessory permissible.
… *tacticalfacepalm.jpg* I guess she IS a servant after all… So about Rider, i love her allover. i like her clean, simple yet sexy figure. And although there are no small details worth noticing besides her visors and 3 layered hair. She looks awesome. Posability? Let’s check it out.
Exactly, how CAN she do that? Simple, most of her outfit parts are made of soft pvc and that she has a triple layered hair. The top most part of her hair is soft pvc, the middle is hard pvc but has a swivel joint so it can be moved up and down to a degree, the bottom most is soft pvc. This triple layer setup made it possible for her to do that extra low pose of hers…
But that’s not all, in addition to most of the commonly placed joints having little to no hindrance, she has a twist joint right where her stockings and her thigh connects. This allows her to do poses like the one on the bottom left picture… Just be careful when turning it for the first time, some people put too much force and ended up breaking her twist joint altogether.
Yes, her visors are actually detachable and can be placed on her alternate faceplate. Ladies and gentlemen, this is where i start to cringe… It’s probably me just getting a factory defect of some sorts but damn… the front hair piece peg is LOOSE… sometimes it fell off easily along with her faceplate without me even trying… Maybe it’s just me getting bad luck with a bad production case. I hope you guys don’t get the same problem.
And now her weapons, since FS/N I already loved it. Why? Because it’s a stake, not a dagger. Why a stake? You can slash like mad with a dagger and one out of 10 swings it will land a hit. But it takes precision and skill to land that stake right where it would be most lethal.
Anyway this seems alright so I’ll just let the girls take it from here. It’s almost the Lunar New Year so i gotta prep the resto up for customers.
I’ll be back in a jiffy while the girls finish up.
I’m back… ?
Uhm… you there haven’t closed it yet?
