Review: Nendoroid Akiyama Mio

Good day and thank you for staying with me through my shenanigans. I’ve been thinking lately that i shouldn’t leave all the reviews to the girls and also pitch in to help. So here we are, a review of nendoroid Akiyama Mio, with Dead-chan as the host and i will be providing air support~!

Yes, my dear viewers. That is a genuine… well… not really genuine since the brandings are off due to licensing issues. But it really is a Fender® American Deluxe Jazz Bass replica. A lefty custom for Mio because she’s a lefty. The amp itself is also based of an actual Marshall® Amp.

Hi, Mio. Well, looking at her i simply love the details on her. The paintjob and the facial drawings are clean and crisp, using a matte coat so it doesn’t shine like the alien spacecraft from superman movies of 1980’s.

Like Dead-chan said, her hair is possibly the biggest issue here. Because of the length and style, made it hard to pose her around. But like Mio said, it’s nothing that can’t be worked around, still, it does bug me every now and then when i try to move her around. But since she’s adorable like Dead-chan i can excuse her…

Ah yes, these pair… As in BASS AND AMP pair not some other pair you might think of… are detailed, down to the coloring to exactly match the Lefty Custom Fender® American Deluxe Jazz Bass. though there are no strings to see weather it’s the standard one or the 5 string version.

  1. My my my~ You also gotten yourself Mio. And yes, the hair does at times restrict the head movements but, K-On girls are more on the “take it easy” side.

And so, nendo Dead Master retains the traits from her figma self. 😄

    1. I used to go,”okay” on keion figures…

and then i noticed… wait is that a les paul signature on yui’s hand? is that a fender jazz on mio? a korg keyboard and a zeljidan drumset? ZOMG GET~!

alas it’s a bit late and i got most of them at a rather inflated price…

  2. i get the inflated prices part. Didn’t manage to track down Ritsu until a few months back. Prices for popular Nendoroids are terrible once they are off the shelves. thus I pre-order any Nendoroids that I really want, saves a fair bit in the long run. =3

Anyways if you have the chance, check out the Alter K-On! figurines, the details on their instruments are astounding, especially Mugi’s keyboard. I have her and it’s some insane details. Will be doing a review of her soon enough.

  3. Yeah, I’d agree figures with long hair have limited mobility. Some even can’t be seated (referring to figma of course). If you have Ritsu too, you should make Mio hit her head to grow that bum. It’ll be so cute. >.<

  4. Ah. Nendo Mio is so cute, I especially like her embarrassed face. I’m surprised she doesn’t have more of them since she’s embarrassed so much in the show.
