Well folks, it’s that time for a review again. No, I’m not being lazy in reviewing Mizuki. It’s just that the lightnings are heavy and it’s creeping me out a bit. Anyway, let’s move on to the review of Busou Shinki – MMS Type Ninja – Mizuki Type2.
Well, let’s take a look at her box shall we?
Well as you can see, despite her looking “lightly armored”, her parts and her box says it clearly; She is a full armored Shinki. Maybe it’s because of her wings and other ninja weaponry.
Also as you can see from her side art, Mizuki is meant to be a long range kind of ninja, preferring bows and shorts swords with those (hopefuly won’t happen) close quarter combat.
For the information she is a new type Mizuki from the old “classic” Mizuki, sporting rather modern designs and sleeker armor. Well the reason i get her is because I’m hoping she will be my “Yamato Nadeshiko” because god knows my wife isn’t one.
As you can see from the side description that she is made by Group K2 coded GO8NJ2, a successor to K2′s best seller “classic” Mizuki units. It’s also stated about her new armaments and some changes to her weaponry in comparison to the classic one.
Let’s take a look at her blisters then.
Man… the rain and lightnings are getting worse…
ANYWAY, nothing fancy here about her packing EXCEPT, she is given only the light armor stand… which is surprising considering she is boxed in a full armored size box. Another one would be her extra arm part “sub-blisters” these come in handy when you’re carrying her around without her box. Besides, why would you want to carry her around with a box?
So, anyway let me call Rhea and let her help with the activation.
… Great, just what i need… now i have to do everything by myself. And what’s up with these lightnings they kept striking around 4 times in 2 minutes… i hate this weather…
Anyway let’s take a look at her front and back side.
Because i personally love her linings and little details.
As you can see she has that small shinobi logo on her front side, and the Group K2 insignia on her back. It’s a nice touch, but personally the insignia on her back made her look like some type of stock NASCAR with sponsor brandings… they could’ve gone with a more subtle approach. But i guess since K2 delivers the best selling classic Mizuki and Fubuki i can’t really blame them for wanting to slap their name on the remodeled unit.
Anyway let’s move on to her armaments.
As you can see she sports the same brandings on her chest armor, but what i do like is her greaves. Those are heels, gentlemen. A ninja on heels… you gotta imagine the hard times…
Also on a side note i love how the gold lining goes on her greaves and some other smaller pieces of her armor. It’s catchy, yet not absurdly eye poking.
Now came to the second part is her back wings, sometimes i doubt what’s the purpose of it. But considering both Mizuki and Fubiki are based off Tengus, i guess it’s acceptable. UNTIL…
Those are definitely not tengu ears, nor a kitsune. It made me think what her new design is based off…
Moving onto the next item is her bow, clearly it’s the highlight of her weaponry. Particle bow caster with the same accent as the rest of her armor, but noted, she does have a hard time holding it still as it’s connected to her wrist, putting the whole weight of the bow onto her arm.
Another note is her mask, i kind of prefer the “kitsune” mask of the classic Mizuki. It’s more … ninja-like. While this, despite the nice accent on it, made her look like batgirl.
And here you can see just where her bow connects.
Also, take note that her heels made it hard for her to stand still due to the poor weight distribution points of heels. But once you set her up she is quite stable and solid.
And here we have her demonstrating the level of her flexibility, due to more weight distribution points, she is rock solid on such poses.
Being a long range shinki however, does not mean she is not equipped for close quarter combat. She has a sickle and also twin short swords that makes up her bow. It’s clear here that she was meant to eliminate the targets before they reach her, at least judging from her melee weapons.
And that sums up her review, so for her i’d give her:
She is the kind of shinki that comes with hard times, including posing, stabilizing and photo-shooting. But for those who dig her design she might appeal like candy. That’s why i gave her a preference badge because clearly, like Miwa, she is a beauty in the eyes of the beholder.
Anyway i better wrap up this review, the rain and lighting coupled with one of my tv got overloaded is starting to push me into the rage zone.
Besides i have some paperwork to…

Your Shinki lately seem to be lacking discipline when they’re first out of the box.

I don’t mind that actually, just not on my desk. It’s battered and beaten already and there are stuffs there.

Well at least you keep them in line!

I just hope i don’t need to do that a second time.

Wow, quite a violent one she is.
Although she looks like full-armoured but suspect that the armour is more of a lightly-plated type.
You should get some enforcer types to mind them…

Actually they’re on their way. Maybe around the end of this month or early December.
