Review: Busou Shinki - MMS Type Fencer Obsidian - Zielbellen

Well i got a rare case with this one. Because i originally wanted Zielbellen only, but the seller refuses to sell them individually. They’re quite a steal though clocking at ￥１２，０００ for a pair. Because believe me, out there, there is no price for this pair under ￥２０，０００. So, because i don’t really fancy Oorbellen i had to find a friend who would group buy this pair. Luckily i found a friend and not a total stranger too. Anyway you’re not here for my story but for the review so let’s get to it~ The review of Busou Shinki MMS Type Fencer Obsidian Zielbellen.

Now as you all first notice… her box is slim… Yes and also the current ridiculous price of her and Oorbellen (for about ￥１５，０００ each).

One, is that she and Oorbellen are light armor type shinkis. They are purely designed for precision and mobility.

Two, is that she and Oorbellen are designed by Fumikane Shimada. The godfather or mecha-musumes, who also have his works in animes like strike witches among few other titles (light novels, mangas, etc.) that contains mecha-musumes.

As you can see she is made by Front Line company, coded YFL-019/O.

Now, there is something that catches my eyes. Both her and Oorbellen are of the same type, Fencers. The only difference between the two (excluding weapons, armors and color schemes) is that Ziel is coded Obsidian and Oorbellen is coded Pearl. This brings me to an assumption that these two might be actual sisters, among other sisters that were manufactured before and after her which are not many. Not just “wave” or “batch” sisters.

So anyway let’s take a look at her contents.

Now, since she is of a light armor type, she only contains 2 blisters which still contains a lot of parts. Either you let your shinki equip them themselves or read the manual provided on the back of the second blister. Her stand also reflects that she is a light armored shinki as it is smaller and slimmer than the usual bulky stands you’ve seen before on full armored ones.

Wonder what’s taking the girls so long… they usually pop up instantly…

As you can see she is like any other shinki shape and articulation wise. But i personally love her slim yet curvy body and these…

I don’t know about you folks but patterns like these, for me, emphasizes the feminine curves a lot. It’s not eye gouging despite its contrasting whites and reds, because it just blends into her body curves perfectly. And as you all know i’m a sucker for curvy girls.

Now we’ll let her put on her armor and show us what she comes with.

Well, this is why i like her. I love that her armor isn’t bulky, even that skirt she’s wearing looked natural on her. It looks like a skirt instead of an armor. Also as you may notice she has these little wings on her back that just makes her adorable to me > 3<.

On the weapon side of the spectrum, as a fencer type she comes only with a sword and shield. I think this is enough as light armored shinkis are made for precision and mobility instead of being either a tank or a huge cannon in a battle. I like that her sword isn’t JUST a regular looking sword, the wavy shape made it look more “out of this world” along with her shield. Oh and about the shield, you can either put it on the side of her hand or THROUGH her hand. I haven’t read the description very well, but it seems when the shield is used through her hand it can create some sort of larger plasma barrier to widen the coverage of protection.

So with this ends my short review, why shorter than others? Well, Rhea is a light armor so there’re not many items to cover. Despite that she does come with modularity options such as the spare washers and connectors to customize her armor as you see fit. But let me tell you this i got lucky in nabbing her for only ￥６，０００ (with Oorbellen that’s going to be taken in by my friend that makes ￥１２，０００) considering that she is in various places costs at the VERY LEAST, ￥１５，０００.

And of course considering that she is a light armor, and also her ridiculous price. I give her…

Because unless you have the money (or just got plain lucky like i did) or you really REALLY like her and her designs. She is not for everyone, including fellow Shinki Masters.

Well i better find her to let her give some closing words, damn at times like these i wish one of my girls was around…

… Oh well that was awkward… wonder why she looked so gloomy… not that she isn’t gloomy to begin with but she seemed rather disappointed… Oh well Honoka is back so i should let her meet Rhea.
